Isabella Mayuga Morrison
Hi, I'm Isabella, but you can call me Isa! I recognize that trust takes time to develop, and my goal is to create a warm, safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, seen, understood, and respected.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, compassionate, and gently direct. I don’t believe therapy is about someone else having all the answers or telling you what you should do. Instead, I see my role as walking alongside you and helping you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, navigate challenges, and feel empowered. We will work together at a pace that feels supportive while also making space for growth and meaningful change.
My approach is person-centered and strengths-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and play-based techniques when appropriate. I value looking at the whole person and recognize that our emotions and experiences do not exist in isolation. Relationships, culture, identity, environment, physical well-being, and personal values can all shape the way we experience ourselves and the world.
I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University, where my training emphasized whole-person healing through the integration of mind, body, and spirit, as well as multicultural awareness. During my clinical training in a community mental health setting, I gained experience supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and families. I have particular experience working with children ages 4–10, including those on the autism spectrum, navigating emotional and behavioral challenges, transitions, and caregiver relationships through play-based interventions. I have also worked with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and life adjustments. Additionally, I have co-facilitated therapeutic groups focused on healthy relationships, expressive arts, and anger management for children and teens.
I offer both in-person and virtual therapy for individuals and families residing in California.
